Driving Experience Japan Kyoto, Kameoka, Hakusan, and Hidden Maps

Busy city, rural village, Ishikawa touge, a leftover old map, and a Hakodate port city RayshStudios has already shown.

Maps Overview

Driving Experience Japan is a small-server Japan. Six players share whatever map the current build serves, Yen pays for the fuel, and RayshStudios still stamps the game beta even after the 7 December 2023 launch. The live trio most drivers learn is Kyoto city, Kameoka village, and Hakusan. A hidden older map still leaks through community clips. Hakodate, a Hokkaido port city, has been shown on Instagram and in seasonal footage. Osaka shows up as setting flavor on some lots and loading lines. Learn the roads in that order: city, village, mountain, rumor, tease.

This page is the geography half of the vehicles hub. Jobs that teach the same roads sit on jobs. If you came here looking for a car, bounce to the tier list after you know which map you will actually drive.

Kyoto city — the busy default

Kyoto is the buzzing half of the official pitch. Multi-lane approaches, tight one-ways, night lights, dealer rows, spawn plaza, and the shopping plaza where courier vans advertise work. You will crash here first. That is useful. Every taxi fare and every 400,000 Yen courier stop is a map lesson with a paycheck.

What Kyoto is for:

  • Learning traffic rhythm on a six-player server that still feels busy because the streets are dense, not because 40 people spawned.
  • Window shopping Tokoma, Honard, Naisen, Densu, Starl, and Reaxus lots without leaving the city loop.
  • Night cruises that look like the hero screenshots.
  • Taxi and courier jobs that pay while you memorize lights.

What Kyoto is not for: top-speed testing, farm work, or touge. Take those to Kameoka and Hakusan. A kei van from the beginner list is the correct Kyoto tool. A hidden-dealer hyper is a crowd blocker.

Spawn plaza sits in this city language even when the UI shuffles. Find the two Lucky Box Hiace vans before you leave. Free spin, then work. Details on the Lucky Box tool.

Kameoka village — rural Kyoto and jobs

Kameoka is the peaceful, wide village the game description promises, expanded again in V1.0 and V1.3. It is still Kyoto Prefecture, just the rural side. Station frontage promotes “be a taxi driver!” Farmer unlocks here at level 25. Lanes widen, then shrink into farm edges. GPS habits from the city will overshoot driveways.

What Kameoka is for:

  • Taxi loops that start at the station and teach you how the city thins out.
  • The Farmer job after level 25 — kei trucks, slow steering, no luxury Reaxus.
  • Cruising without fighting Kyoto density.
  • Learning patience before Hakusan punishes it.

Bring a C-tier work car. Densu kei and Tokoma vans belong here. If you arrived in a limited bundle coupe, you brought the wrong map. Job pairing is on the jobs page.

Hakusan — Ishikawa touge and race events

Hakusan arrived as a full map in V1.2 and grew race touge events in V1.3. It is the mountain: hairpins, elevation, night-safe corners, and the place NightRace banners actually matter. Reward cars, gashapon, and nightrace rewards all point here. This is where A-tier sports earn their garage slot and S-tier pace cars justify existing.

Drive Hakusan after Kyoto and Kameoka feel automatic. Read the Hakusan touge guide before you chase events in a car you cannot replace. Honard sports, Starl WRX-class, and Tokoma GR Garage cars are the honest tools. Hidden 787B / GR-GT / LFA-class cars are the flex tools. Kei vans can reach the mountain and will have a miserable time coming down.

V1.3 kilometer rewards mean a careful Hakusan session still pays even if you skip the event table. Do not treat the map as a screenshot-only backdrop.

Hidden and old map

Community clips still surface an older layout that is not on the tourist postcard. The video on this page is one of those clips. Treat the old map as a curiosity: a leftover road set, a private-server rumor, or a build that returns when RayshStudios shuffles places. Do not write your Yen plan around it. If your server loads it, drive it, screenshot it, then go back to a job that pays.

The hidden map is why players argue about “the real DEJP.” The paying loops remain Kyoto, Kameoka, and Hakusan. Use changelog to see which place names the current V-number actually shipped.

Hakodate, Osaka, and flavor text

Hakodate has been shown as a port city on Instagram and in community videos — water, hills, a different dealer mix, cars that vanished from Kyoto lots showing up by the harbor. This wiki treats Hakodate as an announced destination, not as a guaranteed button on every server. When it is selectable, learn the port grid the same way you learned Kyoto: taxi first, sports later.

Osaka appears in dealership labels and setting copy. It flavors the world. It is not a third full city you should expect beside Kyoto every session. If a used-lot sign says Kyoto/Osaka, you are still parking in the Kyoto build unless the UI says otherwise.

How jobs teach the maps

You can wander. You will learn faster on the clock.

  • Taxi from Kameoka Station carves the city–village seam.
  • Courier from the shopping plaza carves Kyoto blocks at about 400,000 Yen a stop.
  • Farmer carves Kameoka interiors after level 25.
  • NightRace and Hakusan events carve the mountain.

Pair this page with jobs and how to make Yen. New drivers should still start on getting started so spawn, codes, and the trophy menu exist before a touge attempt.

Learn Kyoto by taxi, Kameoka by Farmer, Hakusan by NightRace. Hunt the old map on a quiet server only after the paying roads feel boring.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Kyoto roads, Yen, and DEJP codes.

What maps are in Driving Experience Japan right now?

The live trio is Kyoto city, Kameoka village, and Hakusan. A hidden older map shows up in clips, and Hakodate has been shown as a port city. Job pairings are on jobs.

Where should a new player drive first?

Kyoto city for dealers and courier, then Kameoka for taxi and Farmer. Follow getting started and buy a work car from beginner cars.

Is Hakusan only for sports cars?

Events want A-tier sports and S-tier pace cars, but you can drive there in anything. Prep on the Hakusan touge guide and rank cars on the tier list.

Is the hidden old map still playable?

Community clips still find it. Treat it as leftover geography, not a Yen route. Confirm live place names in the changelog.

When is Hakodate coming to DEJP?

RayshStudios has shown a Hakodate port city on Instagram and in community footage. This wiki does not treat it as a guaranteed daily map. Watch updates when the port goes selectable.

Does Osaka have its own map?

Osaka is setting flavor on some lots and copy. Drive Kyoto, Kameoka, and Hakusan unless the server UI names another place. Brand lots are listed on the vehicles hub.
