Hakusan touge is Driving Experience Japan’s mountain map, set on Ishikawa-style roads rather than Kyoto alleys. It arrived with the V1.2 car drop (the 54-car wave) and grew race touge events in V1.3. This page is how to leave the city, how to drive the pass, what NightRace is, and what we actually know about reward cars. It is not a Farmer guide. Farmer stays on Kameoka.
Public servers still cap at six players. A quiet pass can turn into a convoy. Drive as if the next bumper is real. The game remains a beta from RayshStudios, launched 7 December 2023, so event UI can move after a shutdown.
How to reach Hakusan from Kyoto
Learn Kyoto city first. If you cannot find spawn, the trophy, and the briefcase, you are not ready for a mountain. Use Getting Started and the maps hub. Kameoka village is the wide Kyoto map you visit for Farmer at level 25, covered in the Farmer job guide. Hakusan is a separate hop onto the touge.
Travel out of the city grid toward the mountain connection the live map offers after V1.2. If a patch renamed a sign, trust the in-game map over a week-old clip. Hakodate is announced as a later map. It is not Hakusan. Do not wait in a ferry parking lot for a pass that already exists inland.
Bring a car you can replace. A kei that survived delivery is a better first Hakusan car than a limited from the limited cars list. Once you can brake, look at lighter sports bodies on the beginner list and the parent tier list. Hidden Pagani-class dealers are a flex for later, not a touge requirement.
Drift, first-person, and not yeeting the barrier
Touge is downhill patience. Brake before the hairpin, not in it. WASD is enough. First-person helps on convertibles and Honda-style sports cars because you see the inside curb. The key to the right of P, or mouse scroll on some cabins, is documented on the controls guide. If the dash hides the road, stay in chase cam. A pretty cabin view is worthless if you cannot spot the next decreasing-radius left.
Night driving on Hakusan is the point for a lot of the community. Headlights and a clean line beat a huge turbo on a wet-looking curb. Six-player traffic means you leave space on blind crests. If someone is job-grinding in a van, they are allowed to be there. You are the guest from Kyoto.
Private servers historically allowed /setmaxspawn up to 50 cars. That is a parking-lot toy, not a touge feature. On a public box, six is the law.
NightRace, gashapon, and V1.3 race events
NightRace gashapon landed in the V1.0-era notes with Farmer and phone features. It is a separate spend from the spawn Lucky Box (the two Hiace vans, free roll around 8pm JST, paid box 750,000 Yen, 35-roll cap, pity in v1.1.5). Do not mix the machines. V1.3 added race touge events on Hakusan, a NightRace banner reward, more Kameoka expansion, kilometer rewards, and level rewards. Community threads after that drop asked which cars the new races actually award. This wiki will not invent a prize table. If a banner or a car appears on your account, screenshot it and confirm against the changelog. Until RayshStudios lists the pool in a note, treat “reward car” as event-dependent, not as a farm you can spreadsheet.

What to do on Hakusan besides racing
Cruise. Photograph. Practice first-person. Meet the other five drivers. DEJP sells relaxation as hard as it sells rare metal. Kyoto is the classroom. Kameoka is the job site. Hakusan is the road you earned. In-game brands (Tokoma, Honard, Naisen, Densu, Starl, Reaxus) all have something that looks right on a mountain wall. Pick grip you can afford to wrinkle.
